Massage Styles & Benefits
Massage Styles
All of my sessions are custom-tailored to meet your specific needs at any given time. I use an intuitive blend of a wide variety of massage styles, finding the techniques which will provide the best results for you. Every treatment will combine elements of both deeply therapeutic and powerfully relaxing techniques. Following is a list with brief descriptions of the main types of massage that I incorporate into my sessions:

Swedish/Relaxation
One of the most popular and well-known types of massage. It is highly therapeutic and relaxing, yet also a very rejuvenating and energizing modality. Long, flowing strokes are combined with various hand techniques such as kneading and compressing, helping to relieve specific areas of tension, increase circulation, aid in the elimination of accumulated toxins from the body, and to induce a deep sense of peace, relaxation and overall wellness.
Hot Stone Massage
Has been used for thousands of years and by many different cultures around the world. It is a form of body work that involves the application of heated Basalt stones to the body using Swedish massage techniques with various pressures. Creates deep relaxation, relieves stress and muscle tension, and improves circulation.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Is a hands-on, non-invasive technique that works with the cerebral spinal fluid, cranial bones, central nervous system, and soft tissues to release imbalances or trauma. While lying fully clothed, face-up on the massage table, the client may feel subtle yet powerful shifts as the body’s own wisdom helps it to correct and realign itself to a more balanced state.

Deep Tissue
Focuses on specific deeper layers of muscle tissue. This type of massage can quickly and efficiently help to alleviate chronic or acute patterns of tension and discomfort in the body. Utilizing slow, connected strokes, pressure is applied gradually deeper and deeper on specific muscles and muscle groups, either following or moving across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia.
Sports Massage
Focuses on muscles associated with specific physical activities. This form of therapeutic massage can be highly beneficial both prior to and following any sporting or athletic activity. A combination of circulatory, deep tissue, and passive joint mobilization helps to alleviate pain, encourage proper fluid movement in the body and reduce swelling, thus helping to keep the athlete in a state of peak performance.
Lomi Lomi massage
Is a traditional Hawaiian healing massage modality with deep sacred and spiritual roots in Hawaiian culture. It is similar in some ways to Swedish / Circulatory massage, but with an even more flowing and rhythmic pacing that truly invokes the Aloha spirit!
Reiki
A type of energetic healing that was discovered in Japan in the early 1900s; however, energetic healing has been utilized successfully for thousands of years. Reiki is administered simply by the placement of the practitioner’s hands-on various areas of the client’s body and allowing the free and naturally guided flow of “universal life energy” to take place. Reiki is a subtle yet very powerful technique, which stimulates the body’s natural ability to heal itself on profound physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
